The following will be a daily fantasy basketball segment. It’s focus will be to predict the best performance from one guard, one forward, and one center. Hence the title ‘The Golden Triangle’. It will be applicable to both daily and season long fantasy as there are numerous variations of both. However, at least one player will be a more affordable DFS option.
Guard: Delon Wright WAS – Wright has been playing exceptionally well over the last few games. In two games this month he has over 73 minutes, 25 points, 18 assist, 9 steals, 5 three points made, and 12 rebounds. The Wizards are currently tenth in the Eastern Conference, 1.5 games ahead of the 11th place Chicago Bulls, and 3 games behind the 7th place Miami Heat. They need to play well and win games to stay in playoff contention. With the Milwaukee Bucks coming to DC, look for a high scoring game. Wright could achieve the double-double and have 3+ steals against the best team in the East.
Forward: Brandon Ingram NO – Ingram put up a season high 40 points earlier this month, and could be brining the intensity against the Sacramento Kings too. The Kings are coming off of back to back games in what was a heated contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves. There is a chance Ingram plays several minutes against the King’s second unit. He is averaging 38 minutes a game this month, and the Pelicans need a win. They are currently 10th in the jumbled Western Conference. Teams ranked fourth through thirteenth are separated by a mere 5.5 games. Ingram must be their best player for a chance to win, play him.
Center: Julius Randle NYK – The New York Knicks have won eight game in a row, and Julius Randle is the central force behind the success. In those eight games, he has played 32+ minutes, scored 18+ points and excluding one game had 6+ rebounds. The Celtics will have no one that can guard Randle repeatedly with success. A double double with 25 points is well within reach as the Knicks look to stay hot and move up the Eastern Conference.
