The Atlanta Braves head to Kansas City to take on the Royals for some Friday night baseball. The matchup gives us right hander Brady Singer on the mound for the Royals. Singer has had two starts and one was solid, one was not so solid. 1 run on 5 innings in his first start but then allowed 5 runs to the San Francisco Giants through 6 innings in his second appearance of the season. The Braves call on veteran right hander Charlie Morton. Morton is coming off a solid outing against the Padres going 5 innings and giving up 2 runs. In his season debut he allowed 3 runs on 5+ innings pitched against the Cardinals.
The story here is the offense. The Royals are hitting just .204 at the plate and have an on base percentage of .269. The Royals are in the bottom 3 of total offense through 13 games this season. That has a lot to do with the current 4-9 win-loss record as well. The Royals are sitting at 1-6 in games played at home to start the year (Also 1-6 against the spread).
The Braves come in ranking in the top 10 of total offense and are hitting the ball at a .271 clip through their first 13 games with a record of 9-4. The Braves are 5-1 on the road to open things up (5-1 against the spread too). Ronald Acuna and Matt Olson have been red hot and this entire Braves lineup can flat out hit. Sean Murphy, Ozzie Albies, Orlando Arcia, Austin Riley, and Eddie Rosario are all contributing up and down the batting order for this team.

It will be a tough night for Singer to navigate this roster while Morton will be able to work his way through what has been a very weak Royals lineup. Singer has the ability to be on and give the Royals a quality start; Even with that, the lack of offense for Kansas City, the Braves lineup, and solid pitching from Atlanta, the money-line at -135 for the Braves is very generous and that is the play today. A second play on Braves run-line through the first 5 innings at +110 here for you too. Going with both of these as our two MLB plays of the day.
