The Miami Heat are playing like a pre-playoff champion favorite, and the Boston Celtics are playing like a team that barely made it through the play-in. The inverse is true though, and Miami has a chance to win their seventh conference championship in sixteen years. The franchise is only in it’s 35th year also. Boston has a much older, and more decorated history. Boston is in a ‘win or go home’ scenario, and they look like they are ready to be home.
The lack of effort displayed by the Celtics in the past two games is inexcusable. As a player the two things you always control are your attitude and your effort… both were G-league level. Most players pride will step up in the moment of possible humiliation, such as being swept. The Lakers were swept, but only lost by two points, and the leader gave maximum effort (played all but four seconds of the game). Will Boston come out with maximum effort, and play like their season depends on it? Or will the all-stars of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo* out play the starting five of the Celtics?
BETS OF THE NIGHT:
Robert Williams OVER 13.5 Points + Rebounds (-105). His point line is 7.5 (+100), and his rebound line is 6.5 (+110) if you prefer positive odds. However, he has gone well over this line in all three games against the Heat, despite his low minutes. He is a powerful player, and should get rebounds and high percentage shots.
Miami Heat -1.5 (-110) For reasons stated above the Heat should win this game. They seem eager to get some rest (The first game of the NBA Finals is scheduled for June 1st), and the Celtics are not showing any effort. The Heat are passing, and playing together. The Celtics are not moving the ball well, and playing sloppy defense.
GOLDEN TRIANGLE:
Center – Bam Adebayo is the closer for this team. He had a triple double to finish the Bucks, 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals in game six against the Knicks, and is due for a big game tonight. Captain worthy performance could be in play.
Forward – If Jayson Tatum doesn’t come out with effort tonight, he will have several questions regarding who he is. He has 34+ fantasy points in every game this series and should deliver again, perhaps having his best game in the conference finals.
Guard – Duncan Robinson is making the most of his minutes with 21.3 and 32.5 fantasy points in his past two games. He has the full faith of his coach and teammates, and has rewarded them with 37 points and 5 assist. He is an excellent addition at an affordable price.
Enjoy game four in South Beach. If the Miami Heat win, it will be the first time in NBA history both conference finals were won 4-0.
Bet Smart, Be Lucky – Iggy
*Bam Adebayo was the only 2023 Miami Heat All-Star
