Soooo. I wanted to do something fun and drop My top 12 list at the Quarterback position. This list is based on how I think these players will finish at the end of this year. Figured we’d do something a little different than your average Top 12 list. Throw a little more Nerd into it… Gamer Nerd that is.
Everybody thats anybody, plays, has played or at least has heard of Madden. No, not the legendary Coach for the Raiders. I mean yes him but we are talking the NFL simulator video game named after his greatness. (Anyways, let’s get back to the fun!) I decided to compare QB stats from last year to what they are being ranked in Madden24. Also a personal insert on my reasoning for each players ranking. Let us follow this white rabbit and see how deep this rabbit hole goes!
Here is the first part of my three part list.
#12 AARON RODGERS New York Jets
So I’ve got Mr. Rodgers in the neighborhood of finishing #12 this year. My thoughts on Rodgers last year is that he was emotionally drained and wasn’t loving football anymore. Let’s just forget last season even happened. I believe that the Packers either weren’t hearing his cries for help on the offensive side or if they just didn’t care about his thoughts on building the team. They were focused on the future with Jordan Love at the helm, which is ultimately what drove Aaron into the darkness retreat… or maybe it was the final blow in his last loss to the Lions. Him and Cobb riding side by side into the sunset… in defeat.
But alas, our man Rodgers goes on his darkness retreat, popped his magical mushrooms and dove into his spirituality. He is rejuvenated and back on that positive mindset! The Jets swooped him up. They even listened to him and went out and got him his buddies in Cobb & Lazard. Those two give Rodgers stability, but the main attraction… the NEW #17 in Aaron’s life… HEYYYY MR. WILSON!!! Garrett Wilson is HIM and he is going to help keep Aaron young and make Rodgers look like old school, backyard football, fun having Aaron we all used to love to hate.

MADDEN SCORE of 86
Here’s my thoughts on his Madden Score. Rodgers’ Score dropped 10 points from last year. YIKES!!! He certainly had some dud games in 2022 and most definitely looked overall average but we all know what Rodgers is. He’s a gunslinger and can make things happen at any given moment. With a huge upgrade at WR and some old faces to throw to, there should a boost in productivity.
Rodgers, Wilson and Breece… now with the addition of Dalvin?! Let alone that defense! Jets on Madden 24 will be a dominant team and I’ll be looking to select them as much as possible! Rodgers will earn those 10 points back.
#11 LAMAR JACKSON Baltimore Ravens
Sorry Mr. Jackson, but I am for real putting you back here at #11. Not going to lie, I’m a little afraid of you not playing a full year of football… AGAIN. Seeming as the only year you had been available to play every single game was your rookie year. 10 of those games missed in the last 2 seasons. Availability is key!
Another reason I’ve got him this low is this. Over his last 4 seasons he’s finished as QB1, QB10, Qb15 and QB14. Averaged out, that would put Lamar at QB10. Without that 1 boom year in his Sophomore season, He’s at QB13 on average. We aren’t counting year 1 because he only played 7 games.
The upside with Lamar is his rushing ability! And holy moly does this kid run the ball. Over his last 4 seasons he’s finished first in rushing twice, finished third(missed 5 games) and finished third(missed 5 games)… that right there is where his upside comes from. Basically a running back that can throw the ball.
Another BIG plus is Mark Andrews is healthy. We need a healthy Andrews although it’s very likely that Mr. Likely will end up having to step up. But, if Andrews can stay healthy, Lamar himself stays healthy and things click with the addition of rookie Zay Flowers and old man Odell Beckham… there could be a possibility Lamar proves me wrong and moves up on this list of QBs.

MADDEN SCORE of 91
If you don’t think Lamar’s Madden Score is too low, then you crazy. I suppose he is up 4 points from last year, but still, this man is what we call a CHEAT CODE in Madden and in real life football. Having someone like this at QB can throw any opponent off of their game. Perhaps his lack of receivers last year, besides Andrews when healthy, have affected his score. Or maybe his lack of stats due to him not finishing years. All of that is rubbish in a video game when you’ve got Michael Vick like abilities. Lamar should easily be ranked a 95 based on his ELITE feet, vision and illusiveness alone. I know I know, I am down on him this year. But video game wise, just remember folks, he is a CHEAT CODE in Madden!
#10 GENO SMITH Seattle Seahawks
My man Geno! Can’t say enough about how much this man deserved receiving that Comeback Player of the Year Award for 2022. Not only did he do the unthinkable and make Seahawks fans forget the name Russell Wilson, but he also led the league in completion percentage(69.8%). Let’s not forget that he also finished fourth in Touchdowns thrown with 30. Y’all gotta remember, from 2015-2021, this man played less games than the equivalent of a full NFL season. These numbers are unthinkable after being in drought for that long. I think a lot of things happened for this star to be reborn.
When I talk about how Geno’s rebirth was unthinkable, it makes perfect sense to make comparison to a star being born. Basically him being in the right situation, with the right developing offensive talent and a head coach that is extremely good a developing QBs. Oh yeah did I mention their Starting QB had left town. Geno was right where he needed to be on a team that needed a STAR. And he was reborn.
Watching him FLASH QB1 numbers against the Jaguars back in 2021 when he got his third start as a Seahawk was tasteful. See him understanding the Offense. Now scroll ahead to Russ being out of the picture, DK being in his second year and Lockett still playing prime ball. Not to mention them bringing in an extremely talented young back. What a year that was for Petey Sunshine(Pete Carroll).
Even though I have this team on the rise, I think Geno takes a step back from QB #5 to QB #10. Which in all honesty is a fair ranking. Seeing as how unthinkable that year was last year. Im still targeting him in later rounds to pair with Lockett and have a cheap explosive stack.

MADDEN SCORE of 81
Geno might have the biggest bump in Madden points out of these 12 QBs with 21 points. Which is well deserved after taking advantage of getting to be an NFL starter again. This offense was loaded with weapons and just got even more weapons! Geno will be exciting to play with in Madden. His pass catchers alone in DK, Tyler Lockett and Jaxson Smith-Njigba make him a fun option. Add on his play making abilities and completion rate… makes me excited to play Madden as a Seahawks fan.
#9 DANIEL JONES New York Giants
Droppin’ Dimes Droppin’ Dimes! Danny Dime Dropper himself. Mr. Vanilla Vick. Daniel Jones the man! This kid out of Duke is so fun to watch. After a few rough years in the NFL and fantasy, he blossoms into this delicious late round or even undrafted morsel. He ended up finishing the year last year as QB #9 and that’s exactly where I’ve got him again this year. Even though he could surprise us.
Jones didn’t have the best arsenal of pass catchers in 2022. If you combined that with him not truly being a down field QB, he had and average depth of target “career-low” 6.4 yards. That was 31st in the league. Even with the addition of Darren Waller I don’t see that average going up match. Guess what that doesn’t matter. His Touchdowns should go up and hopefully his turnover rate can go down. The addition of Waller should also open it up for all the other pass catchers. We cant forget he will still be using his feet, which we absolutely love in fantasy. This man was fifth in rushing yards amongst QBs and also the third most rushing touchdowns amongst QBs. These are traits we are drooling over in fantasy. He has a-lot of good traits for a young quarterback. would be really nice to see him take another step forward.
So, he just got a big contract to stay in New York. Big addition of a very talented pass catcher Darren Waller. Dude has scrambles like Micheal Vick. Oh ya, his boy Saquan is back! The list of reasons to draft Daniel jones just keeps getting longer. I’m going to tell you right now, I legit am going to regret not having more shares of Mr. Jones this year in fantasy

MADDEN SCORE of 75
I think this score for Daniel Dime Dropper is a little disrespectful. Up only 5 points from last seasons game. I am going to have to disagree with this and believe he should be up at minimal 10 points. Yes he is definitely lacking pass catchers of top tier caliber, but darnit this kid can make things happen with what he’s got. The best attribute is his legs. They don’t call him Vanilla Vick for nothing. This man can move and will turn a broken play into a big gain on the ground. With the addition of Waller, we could see Danny Dimes get out of these ugly Madden rankings.
