70 points – SEVENTY!!! That is a number I have not seen in my lifetime. The last time there was a 70-point performance was in 1966 (the same year the Chicago Bulls were added to the NBA).  Week three ends and that is the headline–The Miami Dolphins put up 70 points against the Denver Broncos. In other defensive news, the Dallas Cowboys suffered an embarrassing loss to the Arizona Cardinals with a final score of 28-16. This makes Dallas, a presumably top-five fantasy defense, one of the week’s worst performers. A dominant Buffalo Bills led week three with their win over the Washington Commanders with a final score of 37-3. Buffalo finished with nine sacks, four interceptions, one fumble forced, and one recovered. Buffalo also tacked on a defensive touchdown in the matchup. We can’t all have these top defenses so here are my week four defensive streamers.

Denver Broncos (vs. Chicago Bears)

ESPN: 6% Rostered Sleeper: 10% Rostered

I know, I know…they just had 70 points put up against them! But if you ever need to bounce back from a week like that you want to play the Chicago Bears. Luckily enough for Denver, this is just the matchup they have. Justin Fields has been sacked 13 times in three games giving us an average of slightly over four per matchup. Justin has also thrown four interceptions to his three touchdowns. No Bears running back has over 100 yards rushing. That stat is not in a single game, it’s total across three games. Simply put, the Bears cannot score. I’ll be honest, this is a bit risky due to Denver having one of the worst defenses in the league right now. If there is ever a time to fire them up this is it. Look for Denver to get one of their few top-ten defensive finishes this week. After this week they have the Jets and then abandon ship and do it quickly.

Houston Texans (vs. Pittsburgh Steelers)

ESPN: 2% Rostered Sleeper: 2% Rostered

The Houston Texans are proving to be much better than anticipated. This is in large part to C.J. Stroud but the defense has a favorable matchup in week four. The Pittsburgh Steelers have not put up more than 24 points on the season this year. Kenny Pickett has thrown three interceptions on the year which is an average of one per week. Pickett has also been sacked eight times in the year. Unless Pittsburgh decides to change their offense going into week four I think we will see another low-scoring game for this offense. Houston has only recorded four sacks on the year while forcing three fumbles and recovering two. Houston also has two interceptions on the year. Houston is a low-end streamer for the week who I anticipate will finish right around the twelve spot for the week.

Kansas City Chiefs (vs. New York Jets)

ESPN: 70% Rostered Sleeper: 60% Rostered

I typically avoid teams rostered in 50% or more leagues. That said, Kansas City has no business being available, yet here we are. You can see ownership percentages above–coming into the week as the number nine defense on Sleeper and playing the New York Jets is mouth-watering. Kansas City has racked up eight sacks on the year with one interception. They have also forced and recovered three fumbles. With the Jets scoring only ten points in each of the last two weeks this is one of the most favorable matchups this year. Even with the recent signing of Trevor Siemian, I am not concerned. The Jets have let the QB get sacked nine times so far on the year. If Wilson starts we get the added bonus of likely interceptions. Kansas City should be owned, but if they are not, grab them now and fire them up. Don’t be surprised if they are a top-five defense this week.
