Week six finished with the Minnesota Vikings as the number one fantasy defense. The Vikings had their best week of the year against the Chicago Bears with two interceptions and five sacks. They also forced two fumbles and recovered one in addition to one of only two defensive touchdowns all week. Behind Minnesota, we had the Chiefs and Jaguars with decent performances. Overall it was a low-scoring week for team defenses with only a few teams scoring over 15 fantasy points and over half the league scoring less than 10. We will have six teams on bye in week seven limiting the pool. Here are my favorite streaming options for week seven.
Oakland Raiders (vs. Chicago Bears)
ESPN Rostered: 31% Sleeper Rostered: 37%
The Oakland Raiders will face off against the Chicago Bears who will likely be playing without Justin Fields. Tyson Bagent is looking to get the nod after taking over for Fields in week six. In week six Bagent was responsible for two turnovers and was sacked once. The Bears will also be without their leading rusher, Khalil Herbert. Oakland comes into the week with 17 sacks and five interceptions on the year. All five interceptions came in the last three games. Oakland has yet to force a fumble or score a defensive touchdown. With momentum building and a favorable matchup, Oakland should have no problem finishing as a top-10 defense this week.
Washington Commanders (vs. New York Giants)
ESPN Rostered: 61% Sleeper Rostered: %
The Washington Commanders have scored over 10 fantasy points in half of their games this year. Two of those games were expected due to the matchup. This week’s matchup, with the New York Giants, should be favorable. The Giants are also looking to roll out a backup quarterback in Tyrod Taylor. On the year Tyrod has thrown for 292 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions. A majority of his attempts have been in garbage time after Daniel Jones was benched. The Giants are last in points scored in the league and have a negative turnover differential. The Commanders have eight turnovers on the year and have missed out on a few opportunities for more. They’re also averaging over three sacks per game and are in line for a great week. I anticipate several sacks, a few turnovers, and a low score helping the Commanders secure a top-10 finish.
Seattle Seahawks (vs. Arizona Cardinals)
The Cardinals have allowed seven turnovers on the year with three interceptions and four fumble recoveries. In addition, the Cardinals have not scored more than 20 points since their week three upset against the Dallas Cowboys. While we have seen some surprises from the Cardinals I do not believe this is the week for that. Seattle comes in with a plus-four turnover differential and is quietly the defense seven on the year (Sleeper). With three fumble recoveries and four interceptions, Seattle averages one turnover per game. While Seattle’s rank is a bit inflated with defensive touchdowns this is a week for them to look forward to. I anticipate the Seahawks will finish as a top-12 fantasy defense, we may even get lucky with another defensive touchdown.4
