LA Lakers vs DEN Nuggets 5:30 PM
Welcome to Lil’ Nuggets, an article focused on the Denver Nuggets. This year, for the first time, the Denver Nuggets are defending champions. It is the night of the ring ceremony and the championship banner will be dropped. It will be a special moment for all Nuggets fans, players, and coaches. The road to Ball Arena is now called “Championship Way”, and the rivalry with the Los Angeles Lakers is as strong as it has ever been. There could not be a better game to begin the NBA season, and that is not a biased opinion.
GAME EXPECTATIONS:
It will be an emotional first quarter, but if there is one player that has been the highlight of opening night it is LeBron James. He played outstandingly in the 2023 Western Conference Finals, but the Denver Nuggets still swept the proud organization. Anthony Davis and L. James has taken verbal jabs at the Nuggets this off-season and will play like the All-Stars they are tonight.
The Nuggets have their starting five playing in this game, and their rhythm will likely be as good as it was before the playoffs began. Christian Braun is a full go for the game, and pre-season sensation Julian Strawther is dealing with a sprain. As of now he is questionable. The rookie if a full go will be an important bench piece for not only this game, but likely the season.
BETTING:
Denver Nuggets Moneyline -198 Keep it simple and bet on the Nuggets to win. Fun, easy, and something to cheer for the entire game.
PREDICTION:
An emotional game, the Nuggets have the best home court advantage in the country. The Lakers players who adhere to the philosophy of ‘playing themselves into shape’ are going to have a difficult first game of the season. The adrenaline is there for both teams, the Nuggets have all five starters and the Lakers have four of their Western Conference Finals starters as well. Expect there to be lead changes in the first half.
After halftime the Nuggets should have any adjustments needed implemented and begin to develop a large lead in the fourth quarter. A triple-double from Nikola Jokic is not out of the question, and a double double for Aaron Gordon is well within reach. Murray should have 20+ points, but this match up will revolve around the two best centers of this decade.
