Game 8/Article 8: New Orleans Pelicans at Denver Nuggets 7:00 PM
NO (4-2) +6, +195
DEN (6-1)- 6, -238
Total 223
The Denver Nuggets host the New Orleans Pelicans in another Western Conference showdown. Seven of the Nuggets eight games have been against Western Conference opponents. The Pelicans are one of the few teams that came into Ball Arena and earned a win after the 2023 All-Star game. New Orleans won their last match against Denver 107-88 on March 30th. The Nuggets have only lost one home game since the Pelicans left here victorious, game two of the NBA Finals.
Both the Nuggets and the Pelicans will be without their star point guards. Jamal Murray of Denver is dealing with a hamstring injury, and CJ McCollum of New Orleans has a collapsed lung. McCollum has had this injury before and sat out six weeks, hopefully he can recover quickly, but he won’t be in tonight. Pelicans back-up point guard, Jose Alvarado, has been out the entire season, so Dyson Daniels could see increased time. Reggie Jackson will likely be the starting point guard for the Nuggets.
BET OF THE NIGHT: Aaron Gordon OVER 24.5 Points, Rebounds, Assist (PRA) -120 DK
Aaron Gordon has covered this prop in three of his last four games, and only played 18 minutes in the game he did not. Jamal Murray played 10 minutes against the Chicago Bulls before leaving the game, and Aaron Gordon brought the ball down court often. He has had 11 assist in his last two games, and barring foul trouble should cover this prop with ease.
The Nuggets will be in for a battle and will rely on their bench more than usual against an aggressive team. However the Nuggets have a deeper bench, and should win this game.
Thank you for reading.
¡Vamos Los Nuggets!
