So, if you didn’t find your team on the top half of this round of rankings, you really want to read these cliff notes. Whether you’re a die hard for your team, or you’re wondering why your ATS plays didn’t pan out, you can find a chunk of the reasons here. These teams are currently not teams you’d want to invest in.

  1. Orlando Magic (Last rank 10) – The current stretch of subpar scoring bothers me. While this team can push to be an average 120-ppint scoring team, it doesn’t seem to find the efficiency to do so. So, some of their recent losses has been due to all of the above, plus, its been a tough run. The Denver win has been one of their saving graces.
  2. Cleveland Cavs (Last rank: 16) – This team has had a good number of quality wins, but they STILL manage to lose against bad teams. Their offense is disjointed, it cant keep up against teams that score with pace… and IM STILL SEEING THAT MITCHELL NEEDS HELP!
  3. New York Knicks (Last rank: 17) – The Knicks don’t actually deserve to be in this spot, looking over the last 2 weeks. The problem is that the teams ABOVE them have either more firepower or have been playing better ball than the Knicks.
  4. Chicago Bulls (Last rank: 18) – Another team that hasn’t moved, but for different reasons. The teams below the Bulls have more holes, inconsistencies and measure up less to the competition. So, the Bulls are like the last good-bad team here.
  5. Los Angeles Lakers (Last rank: 19) – Without explaining the last rankings in-depth, this team has a list of problems that are known league-wide and its their own damn fault. The prime defenders are getting cooked on the wings, the offense lacks fire power, the team is slow out the gate…it doesn’t matter if you beat a team like OKC If you can’t do the same against Brooklyn. Use this team for prop bets, first half bets too. But don’t bet on the money line for this team
  6. Houston Rockets (Last rank: 16) – This team is fielding 2 of the worst shooters league wide, and you wonder how it manages to lose games. The start of the season was fun, but Houston needs to trade SOMEONE for some firepower, and QUICK.
  7. Atlanta Hawks (Last rank: 24) – The Dejountae Murray trade talks are interesting considering the consistent rise of the player, the need for Atlanta to rebuild its scoring core (again) and for the Hawks to find some sense of identity in a crowded Southwest Division. The team plays basketball, just not in a way thats conducive to showing us how they can win.
  8. Golden State Warriors (Last rank: 22) – The Dubs have had one of the saddest seasons I can remember. Forget the injuries , the disjonted play, Klay going cold and so on. This team is losing its young core, the Curry’s scoring is being wasted, the lapses on defense are increasing and this team struggles to close games. This is even worse than last year (and that team was horrible defensively.)
  9. Toronto Raptors (Last rank: 23) – The Raptors may not move from this spot. The Siakam trade hasn’t finished, with rumors of them moving Bruce Brown swirling now. Poor performance aside, we might not see a competitive team for awhile.
  10. Utah Jazz (Last rank: 24) – This spot is not indicative of its recent hot play. Its more of a reflection of where i think this team is headed to. What i mean is, betting on this team to win against a team like Denver again is a bad bet. IDC what the spread is.
  11. Portland Trailblazers (Last rank: 26) This team still reminds the competition that it’s a team of professional basketball players. The problem is, no o e can stay healthy, and DeAndre Ayton just isn’t measuring up to his promise.
  12. Memphis Grizzlies (Last rank: 25) – Since I last posted about this team, Ja was put on IR for the rest of tbe season, and the hopes of this team went with him. The Grizz keep competing but…
  13. San Antonio Spurs (Last rank:23) – We’re getting a ton of highlights, but nothing that suggests any team should fear the Spurs this season.
  14. Charlotte Hornets (Last rank 28) – This team is hot garbage that manages to make a hit every now and then. Its a good thing they moved Rozier when they did.
  15. Detroit Pistons (Last rank 29) – OK, there were no words for this team last time because, honestly, the pictures of the dismay of the players spoke volumes. We would need all day and night to list the issues of this team, but I’d like to add a plus. The trade with Washington has seemed to put a little gas in that empty tank in Motor City.
  16. Washington Wizards (Last rank 29) – If someone could write a dissertation on how this team slowly crumbled from what it was last February to now, I would appreciate it. Not only would I bet against this team every time, I would.bet the under on every player on this team. It is absolutely ridiculous how often this entire squad gets in its own way. Sadness.
