Tuesday night brings us six NBA games on the slate, but let’s recap Monday’s plays. Pascal was at 8 RA with seven minutes remaining in the 3rd and was only able to get 1 more rebound to fall on the hook at 9 RA (o9.5RA). Jakob Poeltl came through with 12 points (o10.5) but only played five 2nd half minutes in a blowout loss to the Raptors and left us short of a double-double with only 6 rebounds. Jamal Murray came out terribly flat and then left the game at halftime with an injury and was nowhere close to the o22.5 prop line on the night. The saving grace was Daniel Gafford crushing his points (o10.5, -120), rebounds (o6.5, -140) and a +350 double-double for us and the live Mavs play of -2.5 early in the 4th  (-118)

There may have been a little Super Bowl hangover for some of the Monday action, but these guys got another 24 hours of rest and should be ready to roll on Tuesday night.

Mikal Bridges o4.5 Rebounds (+110)

Bridges is averaging 4.9 rebounds per game on the season and he has only managed to hit this line in 4 of his last 10. Because of that we are getting a good number with plus money, in a plus matchup. The Nets are home to take on the Celtics who are tied for the most rebounds allowed to the Small Forward position on a per game basis. Here are what the players in this spot have done against Boston over the last 10 games.

Caleb Martin (8), Bilal Coulibaly (8), Saddiq Bey (9), GG Jackson (7), Tosan Evbuomwan (12), Taurean Prince (8), Aaron Nesmith (12), Brandon Ingram (7), Paul George (6), and Josh Green (7).

The Celtics give up the least points per game to the SF and Bridges will look for his shot as he usually does, but look for him to impact the game on the glass. He has had totals of 5, and 6 boards in the two matchups with the Celtics this season.

D’Angelo Russell o19.5 Points (-110)

Head coach Darvin Ham had Russell in the dog house about five weeks ago. Apparently it worked because he has been cooking since he was unleashed to start 2024. He was averaging just under 12 shots and a little under 15 points a night at through December. In his last 17 games, D-Lo is averaging 22+ on 17 shots per game. He gets a Pistons team that is allowing the 2nd most points per game to the Point Guard position. Russell has cleared this line in 9 of his last 12 while scoring 27+ in seven of those games. Spencer Dinwiddie will be active for this contest but don’t expect this to take away from the volume of a red hot hand in Russell. Although he may spell D-Lo briefly at the point, Ham has said he will look to play them together in 3 guard sets along with Austin Reaves.

Detroit has had a little better luck lately with point guards, but more of this has been the talent level of those point guards. Fox struggled but Monk came in to score 23. Terrance Mann is not a scorer but Westbrook came in and dropped 23. They faced Markelle Fultz (8.6 ppg), and Tyus Jones (12.6) recently as well. Dame dropped 17, but smashed 45 on them the night before. Anfernee Simons scored 29, SGA went off for 31, and Darius Garland had 19 in limited minutes playing just twenty in that matchup. Point Guards who can score, score against the Pistons.

Cade Cunningham o21.5 Points (-115)

Cade is the leading scorer for this Pistons team that also just traded away their 2nd leading scorer in Bojan Bogdanovic (20.2 ppg) and their 5th leading scorer Alec Burks (12.6). Cunningham who averages 22.4 points a game and the Lakers also give up the 11th most points to the position. This has improved recently due to a bad game from Derrick White, a matchup with Terrance Mann, a 4-16 night from Kyrie, Fred VanVleet, and the Hornets without Lamelo Ball. Give the Lakers a little credit but a lot more of it was the matchups and off nights. In this same time they allowed SGA to drop 24, Coby White (25), Trae Young (26), Curry (46), Brunson (36), and Jamal Murray (29). The Lakers have shown they can be exposed by scoring point guards just like Detroit. Not only is Cade a scorer, but he has to be even more of one for this team at this time.
