Get ready for a showdown in Columbia, South Carolina, as the 3-1 South Carolina Gamecocks prepare to take flight against the 12th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels, who strut into Williams-Bryce Stadium with a 4-1 record. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM Eastern Time, and if history has taught us anything, it’s that this venue is less of a stadium and more of a cauldron of chaos for visiting teams. With the Gamecocks potentially welcoming back some key players just in time for this clash! The atmosphere promises to be electric, think fireworks, not just for the scoreboard but for the sheer intensity of the game! Will the Gamecocks harness the home-field advantage and ruffle some Rebel feathers, or will Ole Miss continue their march up the rankings? Buckle up, because this is one game you won’t want to miss!

According to the SEC’s availability report, LaNorris Sellers, Raheim Sanders, and Jared Brown are now listed as probable to play!

Stats vs LSU (Another Ranked Team)

  • QB LANORRIS SELLERS – 13 Attempts 9 Completions 113 Yards 0 TDs 1 INT; 10 carries for 88 yards 2 TDs
(Sellers left the game with an ankle injury at the end of the first half .)
  • RB RAHEIM (ROCKET) SANDERS – 19 carries for 143 yards (7.5 yards per attempt) 2 TDs; 1 Reception 11 yards
  • WR JARED BROWN – 3 Receptions 48 Yards

During the September 4th game vs a 13th ranked LSU team, the Gamecocks started off really well with two LaNorris Sellers rushing Touchdowns, one being a 75 yarder, a Raheim Sanders rushing touchdown and two field goals. In that first half, the defense only allowed two touchdowns and a field goal. Sadly, LaNorris had to leave the game with an ankle injury at the end of the first half of the game which definitely altered the ending of this game.

In the Second half the Gamecocks only managed to score one more time with a rushing touchdown on a nice big run from Rocket Sanders, who’s been a huge piece to this Gamecocks offense. The defense gave up three touchdowns which utimately sealed the deal. Gamecocks kicker, Alex Herrera also hit one more field goal, but missed a crucial kick at the end of the game which would have sent them into overtime.

This week we get the Rebels whom just came off a big upset from Kentucky. We get to take Ole Miss on at our home turf, Williams-Bryce Stadium, like the LSU game. They are a high ranked team just like LSU was. To me, this seems like a redemption scenario game for the Gamecocks. Defeat is not an option for Shane Beamer this week. Huge upset incoming this week for our boys in Garnet and Black!
