RB 39 – Austin Ekeler WAS

Another veteran comes in at number 39, and he is Austin Ekeler. Ekeler has long been one of Fantasy Football favorites, as he is an active fantasy football manager. He also has a wonderful charity program alongside several great NFL players. He joined The Sports Affiliation’s Giving Back hosted by Rick Brusuelas. Ekeler is also due for another solid season as the Washington Commanders RB2. Starter Brian Robinson is in a contract year, and could have his best season. The Commanders did select a RB with the 245th pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, but Ekeler should have a firm grip on the back up role. He will also be utilized on third down, on special teams, and presumably in both the four minute and two minute offense. Ekeler makes a fantastic RB three with 216 routes ran in 2024, earning 35 receptions, 366 receiving yards, and 14 first downs. Do not hesitate to select him for a depth piece to your roster.

LB 39 Devin Lloyd JAX

The Jacksonville Jaguars could have the best tandem of interior linebackers in the league. Devin Lloyd and Foyesade Oluokun are a fearsome duo and Lloyd lands at LB 39. He is capable of finishing much higher than 39, but a healthy Oluokun should lead the statistical count between them. Not that Lloyd’s numbers aren’t impressive.

Lloyd has recorded 113 or more tackles in each of his first three seasons. That is the bulk of where his points come from, and in leagues with high points for tackles, his draft capital increases. He has also recorded 4 interceptions and is a three down linebacker for the Jaguars. At 6′ 3″ and 265 pounds Lloyd is a force in the run game, capable of playing sideline to sideline with good (not great) coverage skills.

Jacksonville did not exercise it’s fifth year option on Lloyd, and an impressive season could land him a big payday with the Jaguars or elsewhere. His numbers have spoken for themselves, and Jacksonville’s offense could take a few weeks to find it’s rhythm. Draft Lloyd and have a plug and play LB for the season.
