RB 36 – Tyler Allgeier ATL
The Atlanta Falcons are in contention to win the NFC South this season, and will do so with tough defense and running the ball. Having the best RB in the league helps achieve those goals, and Bijan Robinson is just that. However, Tyler Allgeier has been a good RB for Atlanta as well, and both running backs will be utilized again this season.
In three seasons Allgeier has 533 rushing attempts, 2,362 rushing yards, 47 receptions, 420 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns. Those are impressive numbers for anyone, but especially for a backup running back who would get thrust into a lot of volume should Robinson go down. Atlanta improved their offensive line, and Allgeier will work into the game with drives, and special scenarios. He’s more than a handcuff to Robinson, Allgeier has stand alone value. Do not hesitate to draft him a round or two ahead of his current ADP, RB #54.
LB 36 – Bobby Wagner WAS
Some say Bobby Wagner is ranked too low, some too high, and others that they can’t believe he’s still playing. Well he is, and at an elite level too. Although some of his numbers dipped last year, his 1,258 snaps were the most he has played in his 13 NFL seasons. The former Utah State Aggie is on his second stint with Dan Quinn, and is a true leader for the Washington Commanders.
Washington made it to the NFC Conference Championship last year. And they have a defense that is capable of leading them there again. Wagner recorded 108 tackles, and two sacks last year and another 100+ tackle seasons is within reach. Washington added veteran players in Von Miller, Javon Kinlaw, and Deatrich Wise to bolster the defensive line.
Wagner and fellow LB Frankie Luvu will shoulder a large responsibility at the second level. Wagner has a higher ceiling then LB 36, possibly finishing in the teens. The future Hall of Fame member’s fantasy strength is his high floor, do not hesitate to grab the 2012 second round pick.
