RB 35 – RJ Harvey DEN
Another rookie cracks the top forty, and it’s Denver Broncos RJ Harvey. Unlike most RBs in Mano y Mano, Harvey has been placed closer to his ceiling. There is competition in Denver from J.K. Dobbins, Audric Estime, and Jaleel McLaughlin. Bo Nix is also a threat with 96 rushing attempts, 473 yards, and 4 touchdowns. However, Harvey’s ADP is currently RB #21, and 56th overall. That is a steep price for a player that has competition for touches.
Having said that Harvey has a unique skill set with explosive ability. He was selected by the Broncos with the 60th pick for a reason, and he will be utilized. If he improves his pass catching ability, he will have a major advantage over the other RBs on the roster. Denver will have a great defense once again, and their offense is set to improve. The question becomes how many touches will Harvey have? He is being overvalued, but for dynasty leagues, he is worth a first round selection.
LB 35 – Germaine Pratt LV
Germaine Pratt is coming off his best statistical season. He played 1,075 snaps, recorded 107 combined tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions. The snaps and tackles were career highs, but Pratt has 2 interceptions in each of the last four seasons. The cause of that is his poor pass defense, which causes him to get targeted often. This is good for IDP fantasy football managers, who want points by any means necessary.
Pratt was targeted 79 times last season, which was also a career high. However the Cincinnati Bengals were collectively a bad defense last year. This year Pratt is with the Las Vegas Raiders, and new Head Coach Pete Carroll. The Raiders brought in Elandon Roberts to play alongside Pratt, and those two will see several snaps. The Raiders also cut Jailin Walker an undrafted free agent, displaying confidence in Pratt.
Pratt could exceed his ranking of #35, but without any competition his floor is safe as a LB 3. His ADP varies depending on the league in scoring, but another 100+ tackle season with interceptions is on the radar. Grab him early in LB heavy IDP leagues, and within reason in most formats.
