RB 30 Joe Mixon HOU
Joe Mixon’s absence at training camp has been a surprise for almost everyone, and it is still unclear how severe his leg injury is. The Houston Texans have an opportunity for a deep playoff push, and Head Coach DeMeco Ryans has a philosophy to get there. Great defense, and a mistake free offense owning the time of possession battle. Mixon is a pillar for that philosophy to be successful.
Including the playoffs, Mixon recorded 311 snaps in 16 games last season. He earned 1,210 rushing yards, 39 receptions, 334 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns. Those are fantastic numbers for a full season, and Mixon has proven the ability to be a workhorse since his days at Oklahoma University. He’s only 29 but this will be his 9th NFL season, and he has taken a lot of hits over those years. The wear and tear is evident with his current injury.
Nick Chubb is going to be relevant and that is why he was listed at RB #40. Mixon is also going to be relevant, but he is a true wildcard at the moment. His ADP has changed since June and July, but he is still being drafted as RB #21, and 51st overall. That seems like a reach, but if he falls a couple of rounds, take the risk on him… just handcuff him with Chubb.
LB 30 Logan Wilson
The Cincinnati Bengals defense is in turmoil and total change. Their quiet and hard working stud IDP, Trey Hendrickson, is not pleased. So much so that he has actually spoke to the public, held out, and is still demanding a new deal. Leading the league is sacks will do that. Germaine Pratt is with the Las Vegas Raiders, there is a turnover in the secondary, but one constant is Logan Wilson.
Wilson was injured in week 11 last year, and his season ended due to it. He played 743 snaps, recorded 65 tackles, and 0 sacks. All of those were either career lows or fewest since his rookie season. Wilson did manage two forced fumbles, and one pass defended. He should have a bounce back year in a defense that is heavily reliant on him.
Wilson’s ADP is everywhere depending on how the league’s scoring is, but he is a great tackler. He also has a knack for the big play with 12 career interceptions, 10 passes defended, 7 sacks, and 7 forced fumbles. Wilson is worth a grab early as he is more valuable then ever.
