RB #12 De’Von Achane MIA
The Miami Dolphins are in an odd position of stagnation. The Dolphins are waiting, watching, to see if the house Mike McDaniel built will stand or collapse. Their playmakers are in conversation for trade deals, and their quarterback is the biggest question mark in the NFL. Despite that De’Von Achane has potential to be a league winner.
He is dealing with a calf injury which is not optimal. He is out for at least a week, with about two weeks from the Dolphins’ season opener. Yet his ceiling has him in the draft area of the elite running backs. His ADP is currently RB 7 and 14th overall. It is a steep price to get Achane on a roster, but his numbers indicate it is worth it.
Achance’s 2024 statistics are; 203 rushing attempts, 907 rushing yards, 87 targets, 78 receptions, 592 receiving yards, and 12 total touchdowns. He finished 1 yard shy of 1,500 total scrimmage yards, and is a favorite target of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. He recorded 138 snaps in the slot, and 70 split wide. As long as he stays healthy he should be a RB 1 in 2025. Achane is a PPR machine, but his price is a little high for standard leagues.
LB #12 T.J. Edwards CHI
T.J. Edwards is one of the most undervalued linebackers in fantasy football. He has been a consistent producer regardless of where he has played. He recorded 1,069 snaps last season, 881 of which were in the box. That lead to 129 combined tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 6 quarterback hits, 4 sacks, 3 passes defended, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 interception. Quite the stat stuffer for an under appreciated linebacker.
He is entering his third season with the Chicago Bears, and there are indications that the offense might suffer once again. That would lead to another 1,000+ snap season for Edwards, and another season with 100+ tackles. Edwards has recorded 129 or more tackles the last four years, and has played all 17 games the past three seasons. He is reliable, he is a tackling machine, he wears the “green dot”, he earns stats across the board. He is great IDP to grab, and he usually is drafted later then other linebackers. Grab him and have a starter all season.
