All 32 Looking Forward Reasoning Backward After Week Three By Dennis Michelsen https://www.scienceoffantasyfootball.com

Each week, I will bring a brief update on each team, including the latest injury concerns and performances from over the past week. This will also include recommendations for possible waiver wire pickups and suggested FAAB bids. FAAB bids and availability will be based on the FPPC $1000 bankroll. Week two is in the books; let’s reason backward to look forward for all 32 teams.

Arizona Cardinals

Serious injury to James Conner ends his season and opens the door to full-time Trey Benson starting in week four.

Possible Waiver Addition: Michael Carter is worth a $1 holler in FPPC leagues where he is available in 100% of leagues. He will come off the Practice Squad and would be the logical next man up to Benson.

Atlanta Falcons

Michael Penix looked shaky for the second straight game, and this time was pulled for Kirk Cousins late in the game. He hasn’t lost his starting job yet, but his poor performance is affecting Bijan Robinson and Drake London in Fantasy Football.

Possible Waiver Addition: Kirk Cousins should be a $5 bid this week and is available in 69% of FPPC leagues right now.

Baltimore Ravens

Their porous defense will make Lamar Jackson the top QB in Fantasy Football this season.

Possible Waiver Addition: DeAndre Hopkins is turning into a solid red zone target in this offense and is worth a $1 holler if you need a depth play at WR and is available in 24% of FPPC leagues.

Buffalo Bills

Defense is weaker than expected, which could lead to more shootout games for them this season. However, against a weaker opponent, this team will not need to throw much at all.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Carolina Panthers

The RBs are splitting the volume in a below-average offense right now, and Bryce Young only threw for 121 yards in Week 3; that is a massive concern for all Panthers in Fantasy Football going forward.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Chicago Bears

The good news is THAT is the kind of play we hoped to see by Caleb Williams. The bad news is that they won’t get to play the Cowboys’ defense every week.

Possible Waiver Addition: RB Monangai is worth a $25 bid this week and is available in 18% of FPPC leagues. He is now the clear backup to Swift.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Vikings and maybe the league caught up with QB Jake Browning quickly, as the Professor speculated on the Science of Fantasy Football Podcast last week. The offensive line appears leaky, which will be a significant concern for all Bengals players in Fantasy Football going forward.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Cleveland Browns

Judkins has taken over as the undisputed RB1 for the Browns, but Joe Flacco has looked as if Father Time has finally caught up with him.

Possible Waiver Addition: QB Dillon Gabriel is worth a $1 speculation bid on FPPC this week, where he is available in 81% of leagues.

Dallas Cowboys

The Fantasy Football world awaits the news on the health of WR Cee Dee Lamb after his high ankle sprain knocked him out early in week three. KaVontae Turpin saw 68% of the snaps in week three without Lamb in the game.

Possible Waiver Addition: KaVontae Turpin is worth a $1 holler in FPPC leagues this week and is available in 95% of leagues.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Denver Broncos

In his first three games this season, QB Bo Nix is only averaging 178 yards passing per game with only 24 yards rushing per game. That’s 50 yards less passing per game this season. Troy Franklin saw more snaps and four targets but didn’t contribute much in yardage this week.

Possible Waiver Addition: WR Troy Franklin is a nice $10 bid on FPPC and is available in 32% of leagues.

Detroit Lions

Once again, in week three, QB Jared Goff showed he can be very effective on the road in light wind conditions, especially against a weaker defense.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Green Bay Packers

The bad news is that the Packers’ offense looked average at best this week, but the good news is that they won’t have to play the Browns again, who have looked very solid so far this season.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Houston Texans

This rebuilt offensive line is not doing a good job of protecting the QB or opening holes for the offense. RB Woody Marks continues to get more snaps and a little more volume each week and could take over that lead RB spot before long.

Possible Waiver Addition: If Woody Marks is available in your league, he is worth a $60 bid on FPPC, but he is only available in 9% of leagues right now

Indianapolis Colts

Did anyone pick the Colts to be the last team to have to punt for the first time? A remarkable turnaround for a team that the consensus seemed to pick on for bad decision-making at QB and elsewhere.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Jacksonville Jaguars

Eleven different receivers were targeted with passes as the Jags and QB Trevor Lawrence have to throw 40 times in the game.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Kansas City Chiefs

The good news is that the Chiefs looked like their old selves, winning their first game of the season. However, the bad news is that this will be the only time all year they will get to face the Giants. WR Tyquan Thornton was targeted 9 times and is averaging 6 per game.

Possible Waiver Addition: WR Tyquan Thornton is worth a $10 bid and is available in 87% of leagues.

Las Vegas Raiders

Tre Tucker blew up for a 40-point game, but it’s hard to chase the erratic production expected from this talented young player.  13.4 in week one, followed by 4.9 in week two, followed by 40 in week three, shows why total points and even points per game can be misleading in a small sample size.

Possible Waiver Addition: Don’t let Tre Tucker go cheap, so put in a $30 bid in FPPC leagues, and he is available in 80% of leagues.

Los Angeles Chargers

The injury to Najee Harris left the RB duties to rookie Omarion Hampton, and he didn’t disappoint in a tough division win. After three games, many expected WR Ladd McConkey to be in the top 3 for Fantasy Football WRs, but he is third on his own team instead.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Los Angeles Rams

Puka Nacua might be the best WR in Fantasy Football right now with Davante Adams keeping defenses honest. In Fantasy leagues that start 3 WR, you would be sitting pretty playing them both every week.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Miami Dolphins

Tua has been a turnover machine this season, and unless that changes, this team is in for a very long season because they are not good enough to withstand that many mistakes.

Possible Waiver Addition: Malik Washington is a lovely $1 holler this week on FPPC leagues again, this week in case there is a trade or suspension for veteran WR Tyreek Hill.

Minnesota Vikings

RB Jordan Mason could be a Top 10 RB in Fantasy Football this season if he can stay healthy.

No Waiver Targets This Week

New England Patriots

The coaching staff seemed reluctant to trust their highly drafted rookie RB, only to have the veteran RBs both turn the ball over this week.

No Waiver Targets This Week

New Orleans Saints

Spencer Rattler won’t lead the Saints to too many wins, but he is proving to be just fine for WR Chris Olave, who hasn’t scored a TD yet but has been in double-digit PPR points in Fantasy Football each week.

No Waiver Targets This Week

New York Giants

The Russel Wilson era might have lasted a whole three weeks in NY with rookie Jaxson Dart likely to start in week four.

Possible Waiver Addition: QB Jaxson Dart is worth a $10 stash and grab bid on FPPC and is available in 74% of 1QB leagues right now.

New York Jets

Tyrod Taylor had to drop back to pass over 40 times and had a couple of turnovers. Justin Fields return is key to any Fantasy Football success on this roster.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Philadelphia Eagles

The rest of the league got some great news that you can beat this defense for points, but most teams don’t have two WRs that are as talented to win those 50/50 balls as often as Nacua and Adams.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Pittsburgh Steelers

Unless he gets hurt, there is no longer any fear of RB Jaylen Warren losing volume to the rookie for the foreseeable future.

Possible Waiver Addition: RB Kenneth Gainwell might be the next man up if anything happens to Jaylen Warren and is worth a $1 holler in FPPC, and is available in 61% of leagues.

San Francisco 49ers

RB Christian McCaffrey is averaging over 20 PPR points per game, despite scoring only one TD in the first three games, which shows why volume is King at the RB position.

No Waiver Targets This Week

Seattle Seahawks

WR Tory Horton only has eight targets in the first 3 weeks combined, but has scored 2 receiving TDs.

Possible Waiver Addition: Rookie WR Tory Horton is worth a $10 bid in FPPC leagues and is available in 40% leagues right now.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

An injury to WR Mike Evans, with Chris Godwin still a week or two away from returning, will have this excellent offense leaning heavily on rookie WR Emeka Egbuka.

Possible Waiver Addition: WR Sterling Shephard had a solid 12 PPR point game last week and is an excellent addition for a $5 bid on FPPC, where he is available in 95% of leagues.

Tennessee Titans

Rookie WR Elic Ayomanor is taking over as the favorite target for rookie QB Cam Ward.

Possible Waiver Addition: This is your last chance to acquire WR Ayomanor, and it will require a solid $100 bid on FPPC this week, as he is currently only available in 14% of leagues.

Washington Commanders

The backfield has been turned into a 3-headed monster with the loss of Austin Ekeler, and solid play last week by replacement QB Marcus Mariota will allow the coaching staff to be very patient with Jayden Daniels.

Possible Waiver Addition: While most of this week will be bidding on Chris Rodriguez, it might be best to zag and take RB Jeremy McNichols instead for a $5 bid.

Wrapping It All Up: Based on $1000 FPPC FAAB

 QB Jaxson Dart $10

 QB Sam Darnold $5

QB Dillon Gabriel $1

RB Woody Marks $60

RB Kyle Monangai $25

RB Jeremy McNichols $5

RB Kenneth Gainwell $1

RB: Michael Carter $1

WR Elic Ayomanor $100

WR Tre Tucker $30

WR Tyquan Thornton $10

WR Troy Franklin $10

WR Tory Horton $10

WR Sterling Shephard $5

WR KaVontae Turpin $1

WR Malik Washington $1

WR DeAndre Hopkins $1
