The 2025 fantasy football (FF) season has come to an end, as well as the NFL regular season. The much anticipated 2025 NFL All-Pro team was announced over the weekend, and some players met lifelong goals. It is the NFL’s most prestigious annual honor, and only a small percentage of players are given the honor of All-Pro. There were some no-brainer selections, and as always, players (and fans) that felt snubbed out of a selection.

With IDP FF leagues becoming increasingly popular, fantasy general managers/coaches are taking notice of “the other side of the ball”. There are IDPs that etch their names into the hearts of FF champions every year, and this year was no exception. Chase Young of the New Orleans Saints and Harrison Smith of the Minnesota Vikings each had their best game of the season Week 17. That’s just the tip of the iceberg though.

Other IDPs had floors that far exceeded offensive players (Devin White, Jack Campbell). Some had massive spike weeks that carried loaded bye weeks, and there were several waiver wire gems that shined brighter than draft picks. With so much FF success derived from IDPs it is time “the other side of the ball” gets the attention from the FF community it deserves. It’s time to have an All-IDP FF Team.

The panel is put together with The Sports Affiliation IDP writers and content creators, with a special (and much appreciated) appearance from Steve, IDP Hunter. There are six voters in total. The criteria was set by evaluating what could encompass the dynamic scoring settings of ALL IDP leagues. It is a rather loose and flexible boundary. That criteria led to a framework of the following:

Top five per position & category. Top 4 are honored as the 2025 All-IDP Team, 12 total.

Ranked in points of 5,4,3,2,1

Positions: DL, LB, DB

Rookie of the Year:

IDP MVP:

Legend (Two votes only, most votes gets the honor): IDP 8+ Years, Great 2025 season.

The results from the panel of six are:

* = Tie    !=Unanimous first selection

Myles Garrett and Carson Schwesinger were unanimous first selections, receiving 30 points. Teammates on the Cleveland Browns, Garrett broke the sack record, while Schwesinger led all rookies in tackles. Schwesinger is far from a one-trick pony. He racked up 2.5 sacks and 2 interceptions as well. It speaks volumes about one of the best defensive minded coaches of this century, Jim Schwartz.

Jeffery Simmons of the Tennessee Titans joined Myles Garrett as the only consensus (appeared on all voters’ submissions) selections. Simmons had an excellent season by all metrics, and earned his third All-Pro selection. As difficult as it is to be a defensive tackle that produces FF points, Simmons delivered. So much so that he was recognized across multiple IDP formats, and was one of two consensus 2025 All-IDP selections.

A perfect example of FF not always lining up with reality, were the selections of defensive back Tykee Smith and linebackers Devin White and Cedric Gray. Those three were FF studs with high floors and massive spike weeks, but they did not make the All-Pro team. The Titans, Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, Detroit Lions, and Atlanta Falcons each had teammates make the 2025 All-IDP FF Team. It speaks volumes about their head coaches, defensive coordinators, and poor offenses. All factors that contribute to great FF IDP production.

All four rookies selected for 2025 All-IDP FF Team were consensus picks. Donavan Ezeiruaku and DeMetrius Knight were also mentioned in a short list of rookie IDPs that produced for FF. Myles Garrett and Devin White were the only two IDPs to earn more than double-digit votes for MVP. They got their in different paths too. ack Campbell did receive one first place vote but received just one more third place vote.

There were two ties that were not foreseen. Maxx Crosby and Aidan Hutchinson tied for fourth among DL. But they also received the exact same number of second, third, fourth, and fifth place votes. The tie-breaker was the IDP who received the least last place votes, and worked up the rankings until the tie was broken. That did not work. So there are 13 IDPs in the inaugural All-IDP FF Team. Which is fitting as both Crosby and Hutchinson are deserving.

The second was the tie for the Legend category. This was the one vote without a point system, and next year one will be incorporated with a mandatory list of three players. However Bobby Wagner and Danielle Hunter are two legendary IDPs who are more than worthy of winning the honor. They are near and dear to several IDP junkies that have been playing with them for over a decade. A tie between them is actually a great scenario.

There ya have it! The who and the why to the inaugural, 2025 ALL IDP FF Team. Ask 100 past and present NFL defensive coordinators if they could win games with the 2025 All IDP FF team (19 in total), and 100 of them would say yes. That is the metric of a deserving honor which has been neglected by the FF community!

Below are the panel members full results. The panel consist of; Iggy, Michael, Rick, Mason, Craig, and Steve. A panel of IDP junkies who play in a variety of different IDP scoring FF leagues. Thank you for reading everyone, play in more IDP leagues!
